Default Satanism Vs. Diabolotry

I've noticed some kids around that think worshiping the christian devil and doing evil is satanism..... This is merely christianity, you just root for the bad guy, but at heart you are a christian.

Satanism, in its many forms, has nothing to do with the christian devil(even the ones who show praise to the christian devil, believe that he is good, not evil. And that Christians have lied about him to get people not to follow him.)

There seem to be a few key versions of satanism, in its theistic sense. All are subject to different variations however, so this is merely a quick rundown.

Sumerianism-JoS is in this catagory. They believe in the sumerian gods(Enki as satan) and most believe them to be extraterrestrial in nature. They believe them to be good, but label the gods and spirits as Satan and his demons, IMO to stick it to christians. They label evil gods and spirits angels, same theory there.

Luciferianism-More akin to wicca then satanism, they consider The roman god Lucifer(the bringer of light) to be their primary diety, and invoke him for magick and ritual. There are many variations however, all different.

Laveyan theism-this is my style, and trust me we are a rare breed. as most laveyans are atheists, a theistic laveyan believes in satan as a force, that run s through everything. If you read lavey's work, he himself was theistic in his satanism. the Reformed first church of satan is the biggest group of this i know of.

and lastly, Diabolotry-backwards christianity. they worship satan in the biblical sense. Which in turn means they accept christ as the messiah, and are thus christians who root for the wrong side. They tend to want to engage in evil activites and are easily drawn to sumerianism sects such as JoS, because of the outward, warlike anit christian sermons.

If anyone would like to add to these, or correct me, feel free. I didn't add hermeticism because it is not considered satanic, and TBH i don't think i could explain it in laymens terms without offending some of the hermetics here.

remember, these are GENERALIZATIONS of what are deep and varied trains of belief, but i felt that some of the younger/newer members here could benefit from an explaination of each type.

ALSO, none of us here, to my knowledge, are in practice of Diaboloty. If you are, we won't shun you but we mayu try to correct you from that path.

I think you have done a good job of separating the theistic aspects of satanism.

A right hand path oriented form of occult philosophy is hermeticism, which Darksandman asked me to write a description of to add to his collection.

Hermeticism: A system of beliefs based on the teachings set forth by hellenistic egyptian sage Hermes Trismegistus. Hermes was known as "master of masters", and hermetics believe that all world religions can be traced back to the teachings of him, directly or indirectly. Beliefs include the seven hermetic principles, an all powerful force called "the all" which is responsible for the creation of all things, different planes of vibration in which "supernatural" entities (such as angels and gods) and phenomena manifest and influence the material world, and the four elements. Countering christian philosophy on original sin, hermeticism focuses on the spiritual potential of each human to rise above and become as Gods, and even greater, as it is the nature/purpose of everything to evolve. Reincarnation will take place until each person (and thing) rises to perfection, at which point he/she is united with the all. The three parts to wisdom include alchemy, astrology, and theurgy. Hermeticism is not opposed to christianity nor any religion as each has its own instructions for building the soul , although texts such as the bible have been misinterpreted and taken literally, rather than spiritually, and the original hermetic teachings interlaced therein have largely been forgotten. Hermeticism largely goes hand in hand with science and scientific teachings such as evolution.

I used to 'worship' Satan as like a concept, sort of like Laveyan but without any structure. Up until a week ago I had no idea what I believed in any sort of religious context. I always mocked the stupidity of religion and thus believed that all religion was pointless and idiotic. Of course this leaves many, many unanswered questions, and so I didn't know what to believe. Then I discovered Spiritual, or 'True' Satanism; finally, a religion that makes sense! One that can be traced back through millenia, one with scientific basis, one that actually, concretely explains the mysteries of the universe! Of course, now I'm trying to rid myself of my natural disbelief in matters religious, my ingrained habit of disregarding the religious. Anyone else ever go through the same thing?

i find the term true satanism is wrong. as it is vartied(the above versions are but a few of the many) than to claim your version as true is to deny anyone els(a behavior we dont try to engage in here on this forum).

that aside, all of us struggle in some way, whether letting go of a christian past, an atheist past or in my case a laveyan past and some bad christian habits. it takes time and dedication.
